The North Carolina Power and Light Company said it has been experiencing oncor power outages for the last couple of days and has begun shutting down its power grid for safety reasons.
On Friday, the utility reported that oncor crews were “continuing their work” to restore power to North Carolina, but did not provide any details.
On Sunday, the North Carolina Department of Transportation said it was working to restore the state’s electrical grid and was expected to complete that work in “a few days.”
On Tuesday, the state of North Carolina issued an emergency declaration for a “high-priority evacuation zone” for parts of the state.
The state has been under a state of emergency since October 18, when a massive tree fell on parts of North and South Carolina.
